I have vague memories of a story in Vanity Fair, circa '97 or '98, gushing about the musician Beck and the hipness of the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles. Presumably Silver Lake was now cool because Beck lived here and mentioned he could see the Foot Clinic sign on Benton Way and Sunset Blvd from his house.
